CR Arrested at Red State Rising Mixer
Police arrested a San Diego CR outside of the home in Newport where the party for Adam Ellison’s Red State Rising slate was taking place. The CR was held in handcuffs for drinking in public after being seen on the sidewalk with a cup in his hand, he was not taken to the police station even though he is not yet 21. After the arrest police entered the home to make sure everything else was alright, no other arrests were made.
This was the first Red State Rising event since CRP where their party was broken up by security because of noise complaints.
Will there be an official Designated Driver on the CCR board if Red State wins?

can you please get your facts straight. nobody was arrested. this is slander. i have the original copy of the complaint. it is not an arrest at all.
But he was handcuffed and held on the sidewalk… that sounds pretty arrestie to me, although it may technically have been just sitting on the sidewalk in handcuffs.
The police never entered the home. Where is this info coming from?
I would like to know how the Dana Report is actually credible. He was never put in handcuffs, never arrested. Get your facts straight before you are willing to post this nonsense.
“how is this related to red state rising?”, you said you have a copy of the complaint, perhaps you should email it to The Dana Report so they can post it and clear up any misunderstanding.
In the mean time the eyewitness accounts is all we have, and what I was told, credibly, was that the under-21 Red State Rising party-goer was just outside the threshold of the home when a passing police car stopped and confronted him for drinking in public. He was placed in handcuffs and police investigated the party in some manner, either by briefly entering or questioning the hosts at the door. The CR in question was never removed from the property, and the exact extent of his legal standing (cuffed, warned, ticketed, arrested, etc.) is unknown at this time.
Once again The Dana Report broke a story with incredibly accurate information. When a major news network breaks stories in the same timespan they are filled with far more inaccuracies.
Again, if the hosts have a copy of this information and/or report they would be willing to share to put all rumors to rest that would be ideal.
Red State Rising needs to get their act together! They spend months spreading rumors about Revolutionize CCR members with regard to alcohol, all of which turn out to be completely untrue, but they themselves have not been able to hold a single party that does not end in some sort of law enforcement intervention. This is some combination of irony and karma…
What are the rumors about Rev? I want to hear them. I’m also not sure how someone who crashes a party and gets in trouble has any relationship to the Red State Rising ticket? This is the dirty CR politics that our CRP counterparts get fed up with.
Ok guys, I was there and no one was arrested. Someone was issued a citation, because they left the patio with a cup in their hand, haven’t we all done that??? Unfortunately, the police happened to drive by, because there was another party going on two doors down. Trying to blame this on the slate running is pretty weak. Publishing stuff like that, that is not even true, makes all CR’s look bad.
In response to the last comment, I would hardly call hotel security “law enforcement”. Additionally, at CRP I saw hotel security outside the revolutionize party as well, however they let it continue and told some CR’s headed for the RSR Party that “That one is shut down but there is another party at the other end of the hall you can go to” They were simply trying to contain noise because both parties got noise complaints, because they were next door to rooms that had hotel guests sleeping. You can’t fault either side for that.
Can we please stop attacking each other and grow up. How on earth are we supposed to have a fair election, if everyone keeps spreading rumors about both sides. I’m getting really tired of this.
I thought the same thing, I wanted to hear the rumors again. I went searching, to summarize: the rumors about Revolutionize CCR were that they acted like Red State Rising actually acts now. Funny they turned out to be true about the people spreading the rumors, not the people in the rumors.
To me it is all about judgment and control. When security breaks up your party and sends them somewhere else it shows your ability to plan and control a situation. When you associate with people they reflect your judgment. All these issues could be coincidences, but after a while the “no one’s fault/how is that related” coincidences start to add up to me. I don’t think anyone is blaming a slate, but I always make a judgment on who I would support based on their complete judgment.
I think both sides might be just a bit extreme right now. Revolutionize CCR stays far to quiet, while Red State Rising is making some public mistakes. They should each take a page from the others book, one should be more outspoken and the other toned down a bit.

I don’t understand how RSR is claimed to be making public mistakes? Look deeper into these issues and tell us what position these poor mannered CRs have on the Red State Rising slate. This party was open to any CCR, even Revolutionize members if they wanted to.
My point is, too many CRs post false information from non-creditable sources. We are called “College” Republicans… high school is over everyone; so quit the drama and rumors.
CRs love drama, it’s part of the fun, even the ones that say they don’t want anymore–if you don’t like it, why would you come on here to bicker.
I just wish the danareport, crnation, or something could get a copy of the “citation” so we could see what actually happened.
Besides that, I don’t know how much this has to do with red state rising except that they can’t keep their own parties under control.

The Dana Report is nothing but a couple of twins that are diehard revolutionizeccr supporters. If you can prove me wrong do some, they get the red state rising slate wrong from the beginning. They dont have good sources. The person at the party is not involved with RSR at all. And the the fact that they got the whole RSR slate wrong from the beginning. I really don’t care that Ostunio had a run in with the law. Sounds like the cops were just bored. But lets not pretend that “The person at the party (ostunio) is not involved with RSR at all.” Anyone who can say he’s not involved with a straight face is either lying or delusional.
So the president can do coke in his college years, but a slate who throws a party should be ashamed because they allowed someone underage to drink. This is ridiculous. I don’t support either slate yet, but to make the claim that they can’t lead this “organization” because they weren’t checking ID’s before giving someone access to a red cup is ludicrous. I was at both hospitality suites and both had underage drinking. Everyone needs to get off of their high horse and realize what this organization is really about, they individual clubs at the club level. We as Republicans advocate small government, yet every time a changing of the guard occurs we throw all of that out the window, find a ticket to run on, try to win an election, and then accomplish none of the goals that the slate was based on. The member of CCR should focus more on voting for a slate that will back up their promises and make the CLUBS better, not who got drinking what.
Are you serious? Matt Schenk spoke to UCSD as the chair candidate for RSR? Then it was Ben Myers, then it was Adam Ellison? And the RSR tailspin continues. I’m just waiting for the inevitable “The man is keeping us down so we’ve been forced to drop out, it’s not our fault, it’s the establishment.”

The gentleman who was sitting on the side walk in handcuffs wasn’t even a College Republican. He was attending the party two houses down. On the other hand I hate to tell you how to do your job but in the future you should probably get a better source or not print anything at all if your not going to get your facts straight.
I think it is funny that people criticize The Dana Report for “getting the slate wrong” when really they announced the red state rising slate nearly 100% accurate long before the slate itself became public! The places where they were off were probably right when the dana report announced them and have since just changed. I mean, Matt Schenk went around with other members of red state rising telling clubs that he was running for chair on the ticket, even after Adam Ellison announced; and Adam Ellison confirmed that Alvaro Day was on his slate at a meeting in Santa Cruz. The only thing they really got wrong was the Executive Director. In fact, Red State Rising even views them as such a credible source that they link to them on their official facebook page…

Don’t lie CCRforTruth, people in CRs have huge mouths and everyone knows that it was a CR who got caught drinking in public. You can try to use proper grammar to sound official, but we all know you are full of it.
I think it’s worth pointing out that the person who was arrested is the same Ostunio that started CCRforTruth. Ostunio, how can you call your group CCRforTruth when you’re so obviously lying?
honestly, it’s really not hard to avoid confrontation with the law when throwing a CR party. Somebody just needs to keep people in line. Clearly that somebody is missing from the entire RSR slate.

Didn’t his mother ever teach him to look both ways? Lets be honest, you have to be pretty drunk or pretty dumb to step into public while drinking alcohol, ESPECIALLY down in Newport, ESPECIALLY if you’re underage.
So lets be honest, yes it could have happened to anyone, but it didn’t and coupled with the little stunt they tried to pull at CRP, this is 2 black eyes for RSR and you know what they say about someone with 2 black eyes…..
It’s the people defending the guy who got stopped that are turning a NON-ISSUE into an issue. Someone made a mistake, yea it’s a little embarrassing, but who cares, move on people.
