News That Flew By…

You’ve already heard this, but just to make sure we update our readers who haven’t: North Korea launched a Teapodong-2 long-range missile, capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, over Japan. North Korean media reported that the rocket launched a satellite into orbit to play “revolutionary songs” and transmit “measurements” to the earth, that didn’t happen, the rocket splashed safely into the Pacific Ocean.

The United States decided not to intercept the missile, although we could have, and sought to join the “international community” in drafting a punitive UN resolution responding to North Korea’s “provocative act”–I’m sure Kim Jong Il is shakin’ in his boots.

President Obama the Lame had this to say: “North Korea broke the rules, once again, by testing a rocket that could be used for long-range missiles…It creates instability in their region, around the world. This provocation underscores the need for action, not just this afternoon in the U.N. Security Council, but in our determination to prevent the spread of these weapons.” …That’s the leader of the free world for ya.

The UN’s punishment: Lot’s of talk and no action, but don’t worry, they will talk more about it.
