Republican Jim Tedisco and Democrat Scott Murphy are now tied in their battle for Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand’s Upstate New York seat in the US Congress. Thousands of absentee ballots, including military ballots, are still left to be counted, and both sides are ready to fight out the election in court.
Tedisco resigned his post as the Minority Leader in New York’s State Assembly, which is either a sign of confidence or a necessity from the Republican who went into the campaign with a huge lead that crumbled to a neck-and-neck race by election day.
