California College Republicans: Red State Rising Launches Website (Kind of)

The “Red State Rising” slate, headed by University of The Pacific student Adam Ellison, finally launched it’s website, kind of. I say kind of because there’s no text yet, but it should be up and running by the end of the week.

UPDATE: The site is no longer up, probably filling out the text and adding finishing touches, sorry for the early announcement.

The CCR election is coming up at the end of the month at their convention in San Fransisco. Red State Rising will be up against Revolutionize CCR.

Here is an interview with Ellison and one with Matt Donnellan from Revolutionize CCR at Young Republicans TV.

Stay tuned for developing CCR news…

To TDR: This isn’t newsworthy at all. If their site has no text or their domain still links to GoDaddy.com, it means their website has not been launched yet. There’s no reason to falsely claim that it has been launched yet unless your disguising some commentary about the delay (in which case I think your readers deserve better).

To RSR: That being said, the site should have already been launched. This is one of the most common (and alarming) themes in the Republican Party. We’re not putting enough emphasis on utilizing the most accessible and inexpensive medium for distributing information. You have a Facebook group, and it wouldn’t have taken long at all to sign up for a free WordPress or Blogger account and create a website that contains your platform. You might not get around to visiting every CR club to talk about your platform (or may be excluding some purposefully) but you can, at the very least, take the time to publish your platform online and give us all a chance to consider our options. By not doing so you’re giving those CRs you’ve left in the dark about your slate nothing to consider and certainly nothing to vote for.

I understand that there can be unexpected delays in development but there are tons of inexpensive or free alternatives that you could have utilized to show us that you have a grasp on technology. I’m curious as to how RSR is going to work at solving the lack of tech. integration in the Republican Party, specifically how they’re going to get CR clubs in California up to speed on current technology, when they are struggling to implement it in their own campaign.

Excuse me, “townhall reader,” or “ann thayer,” or whatever you want to call yourself next time you post a comment. This is my blog, not yours, I know you find the insanely long article you posted as a comment important, so, post it on your Facebook or attach a link. I’m actually working on a post about this that will be up soon, hold your horses.

Johnathan, when I posted this earlier there was a whole RSR website, not just the GoDaddy thing. Clearly what’s showing now is not a launched site. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the update, Alan. I can at least be confident that, like a true blogger, you’re accountable for what you post and you’re willing to make changes.

Now, if only your readers would take some accountability for their comments we’d be set. =P

Is the “developing ccr news” about what happened at UCSD? Sounds like dumb CR drama to me…
