Saudi King Abdullah Urges Obama to “Impose” Mideast Solution

Obama’s position on Israel has been in question since early on in his campaign. He’s had ties with some of the most prominent anti-Israelis and anti-Semites in the country, and even has some in his administration. Most of these people, Robert Malley and Samantha Power especially, have advocated imposing concessions on Israel: basically bullying Israel to submit to the will of their enemies. Now King Abdullah is pushing Obama to do the same thing:

King Abdullah told Obama during his visit to Riyadh last week that Arab patience was wearing thin and that a solution of the Arab-Israeli conflict would be the “magic key” to all issues in the region, al-Hayat said, quoting what it called informed sources.

“We want from you a serious participation to solve the Palestinian issue and impose the solution if necessary,” the Saudi monarch told Obama, according to the paper, which is owned by a nephew of the monarch. It did not elaborate. [Read More]

Last thursday President Obama gave his “big speech” to the “Muslim World” (whatever that is). He didn’t apologize as much as expected which was a good thing… probably the only good thing. The president sold Israel down river. Though he gave the required platitudes about America’s deep bond with Israel, Obama made it clear that it is more important for him to negotiate with Hamas, who he never called a terrorist group (he didn’t address “terror” even once), than to abide by past agreements between the US and Israel, particularly an agreement to keep the largest Israeli “settlements” within Israel’s borders.

This “magic key” rhetoric is completely ridiculous. It seems Obama has already been convinced that bullying Israel to make dangerous concessions to the palestinians is the best way to appease the Arab dictators of the world. Choosing to appease tyrants instead of standing on the side of a free democratic ally, is not a “magic key ” to peace, its a free pass to terror and tyranny, and a major blow to lovers of liberty around the globe.
