Silicon Valley has positioned itself as a hub for clean-technology companies. But the region isn’t doing so well when it comes to adopting alternative-energy practices, especially in solar power.

Last year, Silicon Valley’s installations of solar panels slowed compared with the rest of California. WASHINGTON—The Obama administration on Tuesday unveiled a nuclear weapons strategy that establishes new, formal limits on their use, prompting criticism from both advocates of more ambitious curbs and conservatives who questioned the decision to alter decades of bipartisan consensus on how to deter enemy attacks.

The new policy narrows the range of threats the Pentagon will seek to deter with nuclear weapons. The Obama Administration has yet again acted against the interests of Americans.  In the midst of conflict between the likes of Iran and North Korea, to name a few, Obama openly chooses to fundamentally change the nuclear policy of the United States?  Not Good.  If you ask me, it looks like that “we’ll open our hand if you unclench your fist” crap isn’t cutting the mustard.  If the President would stop dancing around like the liberal sugarplum king and  take care of business the right way, maybe his ears wouldn’t burn as much.

Democrats finally fulfilled one of President Obama’s pet-projects late Sunday night by ramming an unwanted healthcare bill down the throats of each and every American, yet they continue to overlook the biggest consequence of their bribes and backroom deals which will haunt them for decades to come.

Liberals, now the owner of the healthcare system, will be held responsible for every failure and malcontent that occurs.  Whether problems arise six months from now or 3.5 years from now, Americans will no longer find themselves complaining under their breath about alleged swindles by insurance companies.  Whether its the high monthly premiums, the expensive medications, or a multitude of other personal issues regarding treatment, the Democratic Party has chosen to take sole responsibility and ferment their image as the party of “Big Brother.”

No Republican will be blamed for this looming health care breakdown as they unanimously opposed the legislation and called numerous times for a scrapping and re-writing of the proposed bills floating around Congress.  Obama, Pelosi, and Reid may be sipping champagne with the Kennedys now, but I can assure you they will be crying in their beer come election night.

BEIJING— The Associated Press reports Britain’s foreign secretary is in China to lobby for further nuclear sanctions on Iran and will seek to smooth rancor with Beijing over climate change talks and the execution of a British drug smuggler thought to be mentally ill.

Coincidentally, when it comes to important national security issues, President Obama’s mouth continues to bark up the wrong tree.  The UK are trying to persuade the Chinese to join their efforts all the while President Obama is all too concerned with taking over 1/8 of the U.S. economy through the healthcare debacle, owning as many motor companies as possible, and attacking Israel (his overwhelming ally in the Middle East).

Liberals would have you believe the President doesn’t want to piss off the Chinese due to our massive debt with them.  Yet the President has not provided an economic recovery of any kind which would play largely to the benefit of China.  One wonders whether China will be willing to deliver the 4th round of UN “sanctions” on Iran and hereby “bailout” President Obama who is looking like a pill-bug rolling on its back unable to cope with reality.  This 4th “slap on the wrist” may have further implications than just the possibility of nuclear warfare.  Are the Chinese willing to bailout Obama who is too scared to take a stance in the Middle East?

Wait, oh yea, I forgot, socialized medicine is WAY more important than national security. Liberals clearly would rather have everyone die equally (under nuclear attack that is) than not pass this government takeover.  Oh the irony.  I predict they would also encourage paying your taxes early as to fund the very program none of us will ever partake in.  Nothing wrong with this ideology… clearly.

Iran announced Sunday that it has started a new production line of highly accurate, short range cruise missiles, which would add a new element to the country’s already imposing arsenal.

Gen. Ahmad Vahidi told Iranian state TV that the cruise missile, called Nasr 1, would be capable of destroying targets up to 3,000 tons in size.  The minister said the missile can be fired from ground-based launchers as well as ships, but would eventually be modified to be fired from helicopters and submarines.

Western powers are already concerned about Iran’s military capabilities, especially the implications of its nuclear program. The U.S. and some of its allies, as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency, fear Iran is trying to produce nuclear weapons.  [Read More]

In its biggest move yet to repay a $182.3 billion U.S.-government bailout, American International Group Inc. neared an agreement late Sunday to sell its crown-jewel Asian life-insurance business to Prudential PLC for about $35.5 billion, people familiar with the situation said.

The government-controlled insurer’s board approved the sale of American International Assurance Ltd. and was close to signing the deal Sunday night. Federal Reserve and Treasury Department officials also signed off on it.  [Read More]

In a report from the Associated Press, President Barack Obama has signed a one-year extension of several provisions in the main U.S. counterterrorism law, the Patriot Act.  Provisions in the measure would have expired on Sunday without Obama’s signature Saturday.

Although the President did authorize an extension of the world famous Patriot Act for another year, it is clear the President still lacks the necessary ‘War On Terror’ mindset needed to be successful as Commander In Chief in the midst of two wars.  Our naive ‘Candidate Obama’ (a title he has yet to relinquish) was to “do away with” the evil Patriot Act (as coined by radical leftists) practically when he took office on Day 1, and shortly after he officially clicked the padlock on the prison quarters at Guantanamo Bay.  It looks to me like we should go ahead an chalk-up another mark in the FAILED CAMPAIGN PROMISES column.  Thanks Mr. President!  If we could only get that check book, pen and microphone away from you, maybe your Presidency will actually shape up and look decent, yet you will likely always be compared to “President Peanut” Jimmy Carter as the worst President ever.

TEHRAN (AFP) – Iran said on Monday it is considering plans to build two new uranium enrichment plants concealed inside mountains to avert air strikes, drawing condemnation from the United States.

The announcement from Iran’s atomic chief Ali Akbar Salehi came soon after top US General David Petraeus warned that Washington would now pursue a “pressure track” against Iran to thwart its galloping nuclear program.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Senate voted 70-30 to reappoint Ben Bernanke for a second four-year term as chairman of the Federal Reserve.

Democrats have been running around frantically pushing the ‘necessary’ re-confirmation of Bernanke (just as they did with the Porkulus, Healthcare, Climategate, etc.) while promoting little examination of his effect on the American economy.  Sen. Robert Menendez, (D) New Jersey rambled a fearful message today stating, “”To vote against confirmation could unnerve investors and exacerbate economic uncertainty.”

Republican Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama, the senior Republican on the Senate Banking Committee reminded the American people that “Bernanke fiddled while our markets burned.”  [Read More]

The markets responded quite contrary to Sen. Menendez’ remarks with the dramatic plunge upon news of the Bernanke re-confirmation.  Americans and investors alike understand that a vote for Bernanke is a vote for more Bailouts and further Government intervention into the private sector and their daily lives.  Until midterm elections later this year, one can only wonder how much more destruction the Obama Administration and Democrats in Congress will unleash on the American economy and way of life.

There are more loopholes in President Obama’s proposed “spending freeze” than in an Olympic volleyball net. Gargantuan government entitlements (Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid) are exempt. A half-trillion in unspent stimulus money is exempt. Foreign aid is exempt. The Democrats’ proposed $154 billion jobs bill (Stimulus II) is exempt.

Pet federal education programs will be exempt (including $4 billion for the White House “Race to the Top” standards initiative and an additional $1.35 billion he just requested in the 2011 budget). Green jobs spending will be exempt. (Obama proposed $10 billion in new clean energy spending earlier this month.) Electorally driven tax-credit expansions will be exempt. The health care takeover plan is not included. As even The New York Times reported, the “estimated $250 billion in savings over 10 years would be less than 3 percent of the roughly $9 trillion in additional deficits the government is expected to accumulate over that time.”  [Read More]

ASSOCIATED PRESS, SEOUL – North Korea fired artillery rounds toward its disputed sea border with South Korea on Wednesday, prompting a barrage of warning shots from the South’s military and raising tensions on the divided peninsula.  No casualties or damage was reported following the incident.

North Korea fired about 30 artillery rounds into the sea from its western coast and the South immediately responded with 100 shots from a marine base on an island near the sea border, an officer at the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Seoul said. Nearly one year after Barack Obama put the ink down to sign his stimulus (the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, ARRA) into law, the CBO has ‘updated’ its estimate on how much it will cost. The unsurprisingly more expensive new estimate will cost taxpayers another $75 billion.

When ARRA was being considered, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and the staff of the Joint Committee on taxation (JCT) estimated that it would increase budget deficits by a total of $787 billion… it appears that ARRA will have larger effects in later years than originally estimated. All told, CBO now anticipates that the law will increase deficits by $862 billion.  [Read More]

BOSTON –Yahoo News has reported an epic upset in liberal Massachusetts. Republican Scott Brown rode a wave of voter anger toward President Obama today to defeat Democrat Martha Coakley in a U.S. Senate election that left President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul in doubt and capped off his first year of failures in office.  The response by today’s voters acts as a clear referendum on the President and his Agenda.

Immediately, Brown will become the 41st Republican in the 100-member Senate, which could allow the GOP to block the president’s health care legislation and the rest of Obama’s agenda. Democrats needed Coakley to win for a 60th vote to thwart Republican filibusters.  [Read More]
