UPDTATE: California Budget Standstill

The California state legislature will vote again today on a budget that includes $14 billion of tax-hikes, although some argue that there are spending cuts in the bill, it’s about $1 of cuts for every $3 of taxes.

The lock-ins and bully tactics of the Democrat leaders are testing Republican’s resolve but the Republicans need to stand tough. There is no reason to vote for more taxes just because Steinberg and Bass say so. The negotiating table is open, as long as Republicans hold together.

More to come when the Senate returns to the floor post caucus.

Call Senator Abel Maldonado: (916) 651-4015, tell him No New Taxes!
